CM enhances compensation for each martyr to Rs 6 million

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has decided to enhance the martyrs’ compensation from Rs 2 million to Rs 6 million. “Life is priceless but it is our humble effort to extend financial help to the heirs of our brave policemen who embrace martyrdom for the sake of their country and its people.”

The chief minister said this while presiding over a meeting to decide the matters of recruitment in police and compensation at the CM House. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Siddique Memon, IGP AD Khwaja, Principal Secretary Alamuddin Bullo and others.

The chief minister said that the compensation being given to the policemen who laid their life in the line of their duty was not enough. “A grieved family cannot survive on a meager compensation of Rs 2 million. Therefore, I have decided to enhance it from Rs 2 million to Rs 6 million,” he said, and directed IGP AD Khwaja to move a summary for the purpose.

The IG police said that the decision of chief minister for increasing the compensation amount was of great encouragement for the police force. He thanked the chief minister for his personal support and said he would move the summary.

Syed Qaim Ali Shah has approved appointment of 69 ASIs in grade B-9 against Shaheed quota for which necessary procedure will be adopted. The chief minister directed the IG police to expedite the necessary formalities of their appointment. He directed the IG police to initiate recruitment process for appointment and move a separate request for relaxation of the ban on recruitment.
