Police arrest accused in US journalist Daniel Pearl murder case in Karachi

Police and intelligence agencies have apprehended an accused, wanted in US journalist Daniel Pearl murder case from Golimar area of Karachi early on Friday.

Rizvia Society Police said, in a joint action with intelligence agencies, police nabbed Abdul Rehman alias Sindhi from Golimar. Police recovered a pistol from his possession and shifted him to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

Police claimed Abdul Rehman is affiliated to al-Qaeda and had held meeting with Osama Bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahiri and Afghan Taliban Chief Mullah Omar.

Abdul Rehman is close aide of Saud Memon, accused and facilitator in Daniel Pearl murder.

Saud Memon was a businessman from Karachi. He was said to own the shed where American journalist Daniel Pearl was killed.

Memon was wanted by law-enforcement agencies in the Pearl case for supposedly providing the place where Pearl was beheaded and subsequently buried.
