Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been allowed to hold rally in Islamabad, adding that any sit-in will not be allowed to disrupt routine life in the federal capital.

Addressing press conference in New York, he said that holding political rallies is due right of every citizen and rules are same for Islamabad as well. However the presence of sensitive offices and installations demands that no one should be allowed to hold sit-ins like it happened in 2014, he added.

Responding to query, he said that successful steps have been taken to curb the menace of narcotics smuggling for the last several years.

The Minister said acts of terrorism have been reduced to a great extent during the last several years as compared to past in the country.

He said Karachi operation is not against any political party or group rather it is being carried out against terrorists, target killers and criminals by Rangers and Sindh Police.

To another question, he said relations between Pakistan and United States have been improved and expressed hope that it will further be strengthened with the passage of time.
