President Mamnoon Hussain on Thursday said that corruption is eroding the foundation of the country and urged civil servants to ensure corruption-free governance.
He was talking to a group of civil servants, recently promoted to Grade-22, who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The president asked the civil servants to expeditiously redress the problems of the people and efficiently perform their responsibilities by staying within the ambit of constitution and law.
He stressed that the officers must take all decisions in the best interest of the state and the nation as guided by the founder of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
“Your top positions in the civil service require you to uphold the highest standards of justice and transparency,” Hussain said.
Hussain said that the officers should perform their professional duties with maximum commitment and dedication.
The president felicitated the civil officers on their promotion to grade-22 and also hosted a luncheon in their honour.
