At least 300 lawyers’ degrees have been sent to the Punjab Bar Council for verification. A source said that the verification of lawyer degrees has been intensified after the news that many lawyers in district courts possess dubious degrees.
Earlier, the degrees had been sent to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for verification of degrees but the process was withdrawn after the authority demanded fee for the requested process. Later, it was decided to conduct verification of degrees through the Punjab Bar Council, the source said.
