At least 25 suspects, including six Afghan nationals, were apprehended during search operation by security agencies on Wednesday.
According to details, police and Rangers launched a joint raid in various areas, including Sarai Kharbuza Dhoke Abbasi, Dhoke Paracha and Madina Town and arrested people who failed to prove their identity.
The security personnel have also recovered arms from the possession of the suspects.
The detainees were shifted to undisclosed location for further interrogation while a case was also lodged against six Afghan nationals under the Foreign Act.
Earlier, a major operation was started against foreigners residing illegally in the Federal Capital. Licenses of 27 private security companies were also suspended.
The decision for the operation was taken during a high level meeting presided by Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar pertaining to the security situation.
