Supreme Court (SC) has issued notice to Ministry of Religious Affairs in Hajj quota policy case.
Plea filed by tour operators seeking to halt allotment of quota was rejected.
Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed said that purpose of Hajj policy is to smoother Hajj process for the pilgrims and not tour operators making money.
Your operators’ counsel maintained before the three-member bench headed by Justice Saqib Nisar that Hajj policy was against the law and court’s order. A committee was formed for the policy however the federal minister concerned allotted quota himself and had the Prime Minister (PM) approve the summary, he alleged.
The tour operators requested the court to bar allotment of Hajj quota however, the plea was turned down.
The hearing was adjourned until indefinite period of time.
