Punjab Home department issues threat alert for Lahore

 

 

Militants formerly linked to Sajna Group have reached the province capital Lahore, for a possible terrorist activity, said a threat alert issued by Punjab Home Department on April 17.

The threat alert issued by the Home Department asked the additional inspector general (Operations) Punjab, commissioner Lahore, capital city police officer Lahore, DIG (Operations) Lahore, district coordination officer (DCO) Lahore and the COS Headquarters, 4 Corps Lahore to ensure foolproof security measures and extreme vigilance at all levels.

“It has been reliably learnt that militants previously linked to Sajna Group are planning a terrorist act in Lahore and surrounding areas for which some of the militants have already reached Lahore whereas a few more of the militants are likely to join from Sindh via Southern Punjab,” the threat alert read.

This threat alert requested the authorities to convene a high level meeting immediately to analyse the scope of the threat and to adopt all the security measures.

This threat alert did not mention any specific place or personality as the target of the attack.
