Lahore police to start search operations in Afghan bastis

Deputy Inspector General (Operations) of Police Dr Haider Ashraf on Tuesday ordered the police force to conduct search operations in Afghan bastis (settlements) in the city on a daily basis.

He passed these orders while presiding over a monthly review meeting of the City Division in SP City’s office.

The matter of shortage of staff and vehicles in police stations was also discussed for which Dr Haider assured to fulfill the needs on priority basis. Haider ordered police officers to regularly patrol sensitive and important spots of the city to monitor the security arrangements.

SHOs Atif Riaz, Akhtar Hussain, Imran Pasha, Hamid Hussain and Abid Mukhtar were ordered to control crimes in their areas while SHO Shad Bagh Rizwan Qadir was served with show cause notice for his poor performance
