2,655 posts approved for PINS

Punjab government has approved 2,655 new posts for the newly established Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences (PINS) and Lahore General Hospital.

Funds have also been approved and formal direction has been issued for the new recruitments.

This was stated by Prof Khalid Mehmood, Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) and Lahore General Hospital on Monday.

He said the new posts included 847 for Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences, 199 for LGH Phase II and 236 for LGH Phase- III while 1,373 new nurses would also be employed.

He said 16 head nurses who were promoted from grade 16 to grade 17 and were transferred to other cities would also be adjusted in the PINS.

He said that due to keen interest of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif to realise his vision of better health in the province, the 500-bed project of PINS has already been set up as the biggest centre for Neuro diseases in the region.

“All medical facilities including MRI, CT scan, Lab tests, X-ray and blood bank are available under one roof to facilitate the patients,” he said.
