First time in the history of Pakistan, the National Book Day hosted by the National Book Foundation will start on April 22 in the Pak- China Friendship Center.
Adviser to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Division Irfan Siddique made the announcement during a meeting with the officers of National History and Literary Division and National Book Foundation in his office at Islamabad.
He said that renowned intellectual and literary personalities, book ambassadors, book lovers, educationists, writers, poets, famous artists, students of educational institutions and people from all walks of life are expected to participate in the three-day event.
Siddique said that the Pakistan Post has issued NBF memorable ticket to mark the National Book Day and would released them on the special day. He said that over 250 book sellers and publishers will set up stalls at the fair and would offer discounts up to 55 percent on all books.
