Did you know Deepika Padukone’s father’s heartfelt message was was lifted from a book? Yes, it sure did move everyone to tears as she narrated the letter earlier this year.
While accepting her Best Actor Filmfare Award for Piku , Deepika got emotional as she shared a motivational letter written to her by Prakash Padukone years ago.
“There is no substitute for perseverance, hard work, determination, and passion for what you do. If you love what you do, nothing else matters,” Deepika read an excerpt from the letter.
“If you succeeded it would have made us proud but even if you didn’t you would not have any regrets that you didn’t try…” she continued.
The Bajirao Mastani actor also took to Facebook to post the entire letter with her childhood pictures.
Millions of fans across the world who used thousands of tissue boxes wiping their endless tears would be disappointed to know that the letter was actually a part of author Sudha Menon’s book Legacy: Letters from Eminent Parents to Their Daughters, reports Times of India.
However, there wasn’t even a slight mention that the letter was drafted by Menon when it made headlines.
