Pakistan Muslim League (PML) senior central leader and former deputy prime minister Ch Parvaiz Elahi has said that operation against Chottu Gang has exposed the so-called good governance of Shehbaz Sharif in Punjab and the fake surveys in his favour.
Talking to journalists on Sunday, Ch Parvaiz Elahi said that as CM he had approved the establishment of police patrolling posts in Rojhan Chowk, Pul Kharak, Shado Wali, Kakhar, Iqbalabad near Miyani Centre in Kacha area and at every post, 25 commandoes were to be deployed but Shehbaz Sharif abolished the project and the criminals were given free hand to build concrete bunkers.
He said that the Punjab government had itself paid ransom for the release of EDO Health Dr Mushtaq Rasool and 10 policemen and now the situation is that police from 8 districts are fighting with Chottu Gang for many days without any success and the army had to be called in to complete the operation.
For the last two years, we were saying that anti-social elements are present in South Punjab and are being patronised by the Punjab government. The presence of Chottu Gang and other terrorists in South Punjab was also discussed in a meeting of senior army officers and Shehbaz Sharif held last year, he said.
Elahi said that it is the Punjab government that has failed in the Katcha area and not the police. Incompetent chief minister and his inefficient ministers who have been justifying the presence of criminals and covering them are responsible for the failure of the police operation and martyrdom of police officials, he said.
He said that Shehbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah have been denying the presence of any no-go areas in Punjab and the Rangers operation was being opposed, adding that the institutions in whose names fake and false surveys were released in praise of the good governance of Shehbaz Sharif should also probe the matter.
He stated that during the last 8 years, dacoits and facilitators were patronised in the area and funds meant for this area had been utilised and spent on Orange Line Metro Bus Train project. Funds for law and order maintenance were also swallowed along with the hospital funds, due to which the province is facing this situation.
This "Choatoo" existed even during your tenure as Chief Minister. Why could you not clear this year when full military strength was behind you Mr Hero. It's easy said than done. Problem with politicians is that never accept their weaknesses. Problem of gangsters, extremism, police corruption and all other diseases existed all the time after the creation of Pakistan. Remember your own guru was just a "Hawaldaar" but now you people are multi millionaires and that is "chamak" of corruption and even it's famous and well known that "Chaudhry's" house is heaven for criminals.
There is only one way to strengthen police is make it completely free of political influence and tha you all politicians can do it in the National Assembly but I know non of you is going to do it because it's against your own interests. Shame for you all for inceasing miseries of the poor people of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
