Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has asked the federal government to ensure provision of the allocated electricity quota of 3.5% to help eliminate load shedding in the province and share the actual data of electricity power generation in the country.

He said this while presiding over a high level meeting convened to discuss the unscheduled load shedding and other related issues in the province held at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar on Monday.

The meeting discussed the issue of frequent load shedding and other PESCO related issues in detail. PESCO authorities informed the meeting about steps being taken for improvement of transmission line, elimination of line losses and decreasing load shedding hours in the province. The meeting decided to launch a joint awareness campaign, by KP government and PESCO, in the province from the May 1 to discourage illegal use of electricity and convince the people to pay their electricity dues to improve the load shedding situation.

CM on this occasion ordered PESCO authorities to reduce line losses to overcome load shedding. Similarly, he directed constitution of high level committee headed by the provincial secretary for energy and comprising PESCO authorities and elected Nazimeen to put forth recommendations for reduction of line losses to the provincial government.
