One robber was killed while his accomplice managed to escape during exchange of fire with police on Saturday morning.
DPO Ali Nasir Rizvi said that the police chased a two-member gang of robbers fleeing after snatching cash and mobile phone from a citizen and an encounter took place near Kali Pul at Ferozpur Road, Kasur. One robber was killed in exchange of fire while his cohort managed to flee with the looted cash.
The robber killed in encounter was later identified as Imran alias Mani and was wanted by police in more than 20 criminal cases.
