The only option available to visually impaired students in Pakistan for giving exams is the ‘Writer System’. Blind students dictate their answers to another person who writes it for them. This system while effective in the past is now outdated. New technology has made it far easier for blind students to give exams. Now they can simply type the answers in their computers. But sadly this technology is not being implemented in Pakistani institutes. I request the education ministry to look into introducing this technology in all educational institutes so that visually impaired students do not have to depend on others for giving their exams.
