Imran should negotiate with govt over JC instead of criticising judges: Saad

Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Saturday called upon Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to have talks with the government to determine the terms of references of the judicial commission formed for probing the allegations leveled in Panama Leaks, instead of abusing the judges.

He was talking to media at the residence of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and party ticket holder from provincial assembly constituency PP-1994 Malik Anwar Ali in Multan.

Khawaja Saad Rafique said that the PTI’s sit-in will be of no use as the judicial commission will expose the reality of Panama Leaks.

He alleged that criticism on judges was an attempt to influence the proceedings of the judicial commission, politicising the issue and misguiding the masses. The minister said that reaction of Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader, Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan on Panama Leaks issue was his personal opinion and not the party line.

He said that the PTI chief should demonstrate political acumen instead of threatening to stage sit-in against the government, adding that he had staged sit-in for 126 days but the issue was ultimately resolved through dialogue. Saad said if the deadlock between the government and opposition parties on formation of the judicial commission is resolved, then the masses will understand the truth about the issue of Panama Leaks within the next two months.

He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was in London for medical treatment and would return to the country and resume his responsibilities when his health improves.

To a question about Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar and PTI chief Imran Khan traveling to London on same flight, the minister said it was a mere co-incidence. We have always respected the members of opponent political parties as we have differences with them on the basis of ideology and not owing to any personal grudges, he said.

The minister said that the PML-N activists are the party’s precious asset and that the leadership would stand by them and never let them suffer at the hands of opponents.
