Federal Minister for Defence, Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif Saturday said that the promotion of quality medical education was the top priority of the government and government was making all-out and sincere efforts for the purpose.
He expressed these views while addressing the convocation of the first batch of 100 male and female doctors held at Kh. Muhammad Safdar Medical College (KMSMC) today.
The federal minister lauded the passing out doctors, their parents and the management of KMSMC for their marvelous performance.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif urged the doctors and paramedics to utilise their energies to serve the ailing humanity with full devotion and dedication, so they can touch the heights of excellence of the sacred profession.
He said that the medical colleges have successfully been playing a pivotal role in promotion of quality education of international standard in the country.
The minister pledged to make the Sialkot as a model developed district of the country.
He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will lay the foundation stone of grand mega project of Sialkot-Lahore Motorway within the next two months.
The minister said that Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif had also approved Ring Road project around the Sialkot city to meet the future needs of the people. He said that Rs 11 billion would be spent on this mega project.
The minister also announced the establishment of an Engineering Centre of Excellence near Head Marala-Sialkot for providing the advanced skill developmental education of graduation and post graduation levels.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that there were several external and internal conspiracies in the way of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, as many elements do not want this mega project to be successful, adding that the CPEC project would definitely change the fate of the country.
He claimed that government would control the problem of power load shedding within the next two years.
