An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday granted interim pre-arrest bail to Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) leader Anees Qaimkhani till 18th April in Dr Asim’s case of treating terrorists.

Qaimkhani, a former deputy convener of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, is accused of helping terrorists by providing medical facilities at Ziauddin Hospital, owned by former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain.

The PSP leader, through his counsel, approached the court for seeking the bail. According to the petitioner, he is innocent and has nothing to do with terrorism charges. The counsel requested the court to grant bail to Qaimkhani. After hearing the arguments, the ATC granted him interim bail against the surety bond of Rs 2,00,000 till 18th of April.

According to the FIR, Qaimkhani is accused of asking Dr Asim to treat the terrorists belonging to MQM at Ziauddin Hospital. MQM leader Waseem Akhter and PPP’s Abdul Qadir Patel are already on bails in the said case.
