President Mamnoon Hussain has said that Pakistan has evolved a comprehensive National Action Plan with consensus of all stakeholders to eradicate extremism and terrorism in the country.
In an interview with a Turkish English daily ‘Sabah’, the president said Pakistan had reviewed laws and improved judicial process to ensure speedy justice.
He said government is also reforming the education system, particularly religious education and has taken stronger measures against hate speech.
He said effective efforts are also underway to squeeze the financial resources of terrorists, which required international cooperation as well.
Responding to a question, Hussain said the leadership of Pakistan and Turkey had a shared vision of transforming traditionally cordial ties into a robust economic partnership.
To a query, he said Pakistan had welcomed the lifting of sanctions on Iran that had opened new avenues for enhancing economic interaction.
He said operationalization of the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline is the top priority which would help meet growing energy needs.
