Water shortage in Pakistan

It is sad to mention that Pakistan is among the top 10 countries in the world where a great number of people are living without access to safe water and who have no choice but to collect unsafe water from unsafe sources.

Recently, the UK-based Water Aid released a report on the eve of World Water Day, revealing that water quality throughout the entire globe has been deteriorated, with Pakistan being no exception. It was reported that around 16 million people in Pakistan do not have access to clean drinking water. According to the UK report at least 84 to 89pc of the country’s water sources which do not meet the water quality standards for human consumption, due to which about 53,000 children die several types of diseases like diarrhea, pneumonia and polio. In every over 3 million people suffer from water born diseases in the country.

Today the PML-N government has paid more attention towards the projects of metro-highways and motorways, but has failed to provide clean water to Pakistani people who are crying and dying day by day in the country. It is my humble request to the government of Pakistan to give or falter water for the people in order to save their poor lives in Pakistan.
