Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost has assured Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid that Iran will not allow the use of its soil against any country.
The assurance was given in a meeting between the Iranian ambassador and the minister.
Senator Rashid said that Pakistan considered Iran a close friend and a neighbour with whom Pakistan traditionally enjoyed cordial and brotherly relations. He termed the recent visit of Iranian President Hasan Rouhani a great success and that the gains made during the visit would be further consolidated and capitalized for the mutual benefit of the peoples of the both countries.
The Iranian ambassador said the security of Iran and Pakistan is closely intertwined and “we view Pakistan’s security as our own security”.
