Arif Nizami says PPP did not support PTI because they’re not ready to go into polls
An election at this stage is would not suit Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and that is why they have decided not to join Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) in their protest movement against the incumbent government, Pakistan Today Editor Arif Nizami said on Wednesday.
Analysing the PPP’s decision not to join PTI in its protest sit-in against the government, during his channel 24 programme DNA program, Nizami said the sudden election would only suit the PTI which is why Imran Khan is eager to launch a rigorous street agitation to topple the government.
He was of the view that Chaudry Nisar Ali Khan is not a true friend of his party as he is not doing any service to it by launching verbal attacks on Aitzaz Ahsan and other opposition leaders.
Nizami said that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has started working as de-facto prime minister in the absence of Nawaz Sharif.
Arif Nizami wondered why the politicians run to London in the time of crisis. It is pertinent to mention here that Imran Khan is also leaving for London while Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has also confirmed his arrival there. Moreover, Asif Ali Zardari has been residing in London for a while, though according to the prime minister’s team, the two will not meet during the PM’s stay there.
