Federal Minister Ishaq Dar will be looking after important government matters during Prime Minister (PM) absence in Pakistan due to his visit in UK, local media reports. The PM’s daughter and Pakistan Muslim League –Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz will assist Dar during this period.
Former Federal Information Minister Anwar Mehmood said that the constitution does not say anything regarding the acting PM pertaining to the current exceptional circumstances.
It was also revealed that Finance Minister Dar had earlier cancelled his trip to Washington in order to fulfil these responsibilities.
Meanwhile PM Nawaz, while addressing the media outside his residence, stated that he has come to United Kingdom (UK) for a medical check-up. In an answer to a question regarding the hotly debated Panama Leaks issue PM Nawaz stated that nobody will be allowed to stand in the way of progress of the country. He also stated that that he will be able to serve the country with greater passion after the medical examination.
