Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan has stressed the need for training-based education to students so as to utilise their abilities in more effective manner for the betterment of society.

He said this while addressing at the inaugural ceremony of SAP Education Course at Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari (BBSUL) on Wednesday. Senior Minister Education Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, BBSUL Vice Chancellor Prof Akhtar Baloch and Secretary Boards and Universities Dr Iqbal Hussain Durrani were also present on the occasion.

The Sindh governor said that with the SAP certification students would be equipped with most sought after training in job market and their future would become even brighter. By completing this training, 256 students, who were enrolled in this 3½ months training course, would have an opportunity to shine and bring laurels to their university, he added.

The governor said that Lyari had changed now as it had a prestigious university, having immensely talented students in all discipline of education. Their zeal and zest, enthusiasm and devotion towards their studies were excellent and they were striving to do even better, he observed.

Dr Ebad said the SAP course was being organised in recognition of outstanding flair of BBSUL students towards learning. No fees was being charged from the students for this expensive certification which was being conducted with the cooperation of CIBA and private donors, he said.

He commended the discipline of students of BBSUL and their performance in co-curricular activities. The governor hoped that the students would strive even harder to serve their motherland after completion of their studies. He also directed the secretary boards and universities to provide two fleet buses for the university.

Senior Minister Education Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said that this university was the result of vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. The university had progressed remarkably under the patronage of governor, he said, and thanked him for selecting BBSUL for SAP course.

BBSUL Vice Chancellor Prof Akhtar Baloch said that all associated with this institution were proud that it was named after such a great politician. The students could pay their tribute to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto by doing well in their studies, he suggested. Later, the governor pressed the button to allot password to students for SAP course. He also distributed certificates among the students.
