Meeting condemns “propaganda” against JuD “for parallel judicial system, says grand Nizam-e-Mustafa Conference will be held at Liaqat Bagh on May 1

Liaqat Baloch sees secular and liberal conspiracies against constitution, says Women Protection Law will promote debauchery and immorality

Leading Ulema and the Steering Committee of all religious parties have resolved to expedite the struggle for the enforcement of Nizam-e-Mustafa in the country with a view to protecting its Islamic ideology.

In a meeting held at Mansoora Monday, the Ulema decided to make collective efforts for safeguarding the country’s constitution and its supremacy and to reject all obstacles in the implementation of its Islamic provisions. The meeting also decided to hold a grand Nizam-e-Mustafa Conference at Liaqat Bagh, Rawalpindi, on May 1.

The meeting condemned the propaganda against Jamaat-ud-Dawa for having a parallel judicial system and said this was being done under US and Indian pressure.

Presided over by JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch, the meeting was attended among others, by Hafiz Abdur Rahman Makki, Maulana Abdur Rauf Farooqi, Syed Ziaullah Shah, Hafiz Abdul Ghaffar Ropari, Dr Muhammad Amin and Dr Abdul Ghafoor Rashid.

Briefing newsmen after the meeting, Liaqat Baloch said that the conspiracies of the secular and liberal lobby against the Islamic provisions of the constitution were quite well-known, and it was the responsibility of the religious leadership to protect these articles and ensure their implementation.

He said it was unfortunate that instead of defending the Islamic provisions, the rulers were talking about a liberal and secular Pakistan under the US and western pressure and were ready to enact more laws similar to Women Protection Law adopted by the Punjab Assembly which, he said, would promote debauchery and immorality. However, he said the religious forces would not allow the rulers’ designs to succeed.

Liaqat Baloch said it was fortunate that the Panama Leaks had not named any religious leader or madrassa and added that only the proponents of secularism and liberalism were involved in the plunder of national wealth.

The meeting condemned the arrests of the clerics and raids at madrassas.

The meeting also disapproved the media’s attitude towards the religious leadership and appealed to them to support the forces striving for the rule of law and the supremacy of the constitution and not the bad actors.
