Indian Sikhs to arrive today for Besakhi Mela

The first batch of Sikh (pilgrims) will arrive from India today (Tuesday) at the Wagah Railway Station by a special train to take part in Besakhi Mela festivities.

Upon arrival at the Wagah border, the pilgrims will be welcomed by the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) chairman and members of Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandak Committee.

According to ETPB, all the arrangements are in place for the provision of best possible facilities to the pilgrims. Air-conditioned coaches have been arranged for senior citizens and special persons among the visitors.

Foolproof security arrangements have been completed for the visit of more than 2,500 yatrees likely to attend the ceremonies, it was learnt.
