A 14-member delegation of Chinese companies held a meeting with the officials of Sindh Board of Investment on Tuesday and expressed interest in investment in wind energy projects.
According to a press release, the delegation led by Vice Mayor of Ghangyi City, Tao Jianxing, met with SBI Director Projects Abdul Azeem Uqaili and other officials.
The delegation expressed interest in the local manufacturing as well as installation of wind mills. The delegation said the projects would not only produce energy but would also create job opportunities and local production of the technology. Shangdong Swiss Electric Company Chairman Qizhi Zhang informed that China, Germany and Switzerland were partners in his company which was among the top global companies in the field.
“We want to set up a wind energy machinery manufacturing factory and wind power projects in Sindh,” he said. The delegation included head of companies involved in textiles, poultry, housing, drainage and water supply.
According to the board’s press release, all the delegates expressed desire to invest in various projects in Sindh. Abdul Azeem Uqaili apprised the delegation that the Sindh government had formed special economic zones in Khairpur, Bin Qasim and Korani where the investors were provided all required facilities. He appreciated the delegation’s plans to invest in Sindh and offered all the required cooperation in this regard.
