Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Tuesday handed over suspected women bombers to Sargodha police on a 14-day physical remand, according to reports.

The women were brought to the ATC under tight security.

They were arrested yesterday along with suicide vests during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted by Counter-Terror Department (CTD) near Khushab Bypass in Sargodha.

Although four male terrorists managed to escape during a shootout with CTD personnel, their female accomplices were apprehended.

Three suicide vests, weapons and explosives were recovered from the possession of women.

The IBOs were launched in Punjab following a deadly suicide attack on a crowded Lahore park, which left 76 people mostly children and women killed. More than 300 people were injured in the blast.
