Chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Monday has asked whether Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will make his taxes and assets public over Panama leaks as the British PM Cameron has put forward his record regarding taxes in front of the nation.

The recent massive leak of 11.5 million documents exposing secret offshore dealings and hidden offshore assets of around 140 political figures including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif‘s family has raised the political temperature in Pakistan.

Several leaders have demanded PM Nawaz to resign over Panama leaks while the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has announced the establishment of an independent judicial commission to probe whether his family illegally owns offshore companies and property.

PTI chief Imran Khan in a Twitter post stated that British PM David Cameron has publicized his all the assets and tax declaration. The leader also asked whether PM Nawaz would show courage to make his assets list public.

Earlier, Imran Khan on Sunday called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign over documents leaked from a Panama-based law firm that he said indicate that the premier’s sons own several offshore companies.

Addressing a news conference at his residence in Islamabad, Khan warned he would stage a rally outside Sharif s residence in the eastern city of Lahore if the premier does not quit. He attached no date to the ultimatum.

Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid rejected Khan’s demand, saying Sharif will not quit over “baseless allegations.”

Khan said the Panama Papers show Sharif himself is linked to at least two companies.

Khan also alleged that Sharif and his family were involved in corruption and tax evasion.
