WASA decides to install meters on tube wells

The Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) Rawalpindi has decided to install meters on tube wells to curb water theft.

WASA sources said that water meters will be installed on 350 tube wells operating in Rawalpindi city to gauge water requirements of residents, its consumption and the power that may be pilfered. The sources said that meters will also be installed at Khan Pur and Rawal dams to ascertain the total consumption of electricity.

Work will be completed in different phases, millions of rupees will be spent on the project and funds in this regard will be demanded in annual development programme of the next financial year.
