Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will lay foundation stone of two power plants of 660 megawatt in Tharparkar today (Monday).
According to Mirpur Khas Divisional Commission Shafiq Ahmed Mehasar, 660 megawatt electricity would be generated from Thar coal plants.
He said the power plants had been installed at Thar Coal Block-II at 100 acre land near Butra Village. According to the Sindh government spokesman, 15,000 megawatt electricity will be generated from Thar Coal till 2025. Work on Thar Coal had been accelerated with the support of federal government, he added.
