NAB official suspended over misconduct

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has taken notice of misconduct and misuse of authority by one of its officials and suspended him.

According to a press release issued on Saturday, the anti-graft body has suspended NAB Karachi Deputy Director Ausaf Ali Talpur for misusing the authority and attacking a saloon owner through his wife, Hina.

The saloon owner had lodged a complaint with the Sharae-Faisal police station that that she and her staff were beaten up by policemen in plainclothes who were called by the wife of a NAB official. The NAB official’s wife claimed that the workers at the saloon had stolen her ornaments. The complainant further said that Hina, along with four policemen who turned up in a police mobile, assaulted them and her elderly client, who attempted to pacify NAB official’s wife. The Sharae-Faisal police had registered a case against Talpur, his wife Hina, and unidentified persons for attacking the parlor owner and her staff.
