Country making progress under PML-N govt: minister

Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq said on Friday the PML-N government had inherited many problems including weak economy, terrorism, load-shedding and poor law and order situation but the prudent policies of the government had not only restored peace in the country including Karachi and Balochistan but also put it on the road to progress and prosperity.

Speaking at a function held in connection with inauguration of reconstruction work of Okara railway station, he said that the present government under the sagacious leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, had succeeded in bringing about economic turnaround and development projects were being carried out in all sectors including energy, health, education, highways and railways.

The minister said that National Action Plan (NAP) was in full swing and would continue till the last terrorist is eliminated.

Criticising Imran Khan for his politics of allegations, he said that the PTI chief instead of abusing others should work for the national development and prosperity and for serving those who voted for his party.

If metro project could be completed in Punjab, why not in Peshawar, he asked.

He said the present government had started many power projects including hydle, coal and solar to end load-shedding. About overhauling of railways, he said the government was working on war footing to make it profit earning institution, adding that a number of steps had been taken in this regard.
