Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has formally accorded approval to complete Khanpur Dam water supply project phase-3 till December.
The scheme will help overcome water problems being faced by residents of Rawalpindi and Chaklala cantonments.
The federal government will release Rs2,25 million in three phases for completion of the project.
A committee meeting held at the PM House under the chair of MNA Safdar , was told this. In the first phase, funds amounting to Rs65 millions will be released immediately.
