Three wounded in hand grenade attack

As many as three persons were injured in a grenade attack in Kharadar area of the city on Wednesday noon.

According to rescue sources, unknown persons hurled a hand grenade at a shop located near Kaghazi Bazaar in Kharadar which caused heavy explosion.

At least three persons sustained injuries who were identified as Sabir, 28, son of Ashraf, Abdul Raheem, 22, son of Abdul Karim, and Asad, 25, son of Fazal. The injured were immediately brought to the Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment. The motorcycle-riding attackers managed to escape from the scene. On receiving information, a contingent of police and Rangers reached the crime scene and started investigation after collecting evidence. Local traders said that extortionists were involved in the attack as the shopkeepers of the bazaar had stopped paying them extortion money.
