Street crimes continue unabated in Karachi despite operations against criminals

Heinous crimes in Karachi have continued unabated despite operation against criminal elements in the metropolis, reported on Thursday.

Karachi’s street crime problem is getting out of hand with the situation worsening with every passing day

According to details, more than 7000 mobile phones have been snatched from the locals in first three months of current year whereas East Zone’s Ferozabad has been listed on the top in such activities.

On the other hand, law enforcement agencies’ operation is underway in the city but it is not giving any positive outcomes regarding street crimes.

According to police personnel, robbers looting masses at specific main roads is usual, in a wake of which motorcycle teams have been formed to take action against the culprits.

New Town, Gulshan Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Johar and Darakshan have been declared centre of street crimes where local officers have failed to safe the natives.

Earlier, Additional Inspector-General (IG) Mushtaq Meher admitted to the escalation of criminal cases especially the issues of mobile and motorbike snatching.

He assured that stated that these crimes are now the prime focus of the police.
