Heinous crimes in Karachi have continued unabated despite operation against criminal elements in the metropolis, reported on Thursday.

Karachi’s street crime problem is getting out of hand with the situation worsening with every passing day

According to details, more than 7000 mobile phones have been snatched from the locals in first three months of current year whereas East Zone’s Ferozabad has been listed on the top in such activities.

On the other hand, law enforcement agencies’ operation is underway in the city but it is not giving any positive outcomes regarding street crimes.

According to police personnel, robbers looting masses at specific main roads is usual, in a wake of which motorcycle teams have been formed to take action against the culprits.

New Town, Gulshan Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Johar and Darakshan have been declared centre of street crimes where local officers have failed to safe the natives.

Earlier, Additional Inspector-General (IG) Mushtaq Meher admitted to the escalation of criminal cases especially the issues of mobile and motorbike snatching.

He assured that stated that these crimes are now the prime focus of the police.

  1. Chor chori karna chor deta hai – hera pheri karna nahin chorta – an old proverb. The politicized Police is part of the crime and continues even if former IG was sacked by the Supreme Court of Pakistan for not performing. So, minus the Police, the Rangers has a lot to do and now busy in controlling mob-voilance and local elections. Karachi is a vast city and if the whole Police could not control the crime, the Rangers are not Police. For thirty years and two generations, this city has been hostage to MQM whose Empire in London survives on Bhatta only. They dont' mind to burn factories for not paying Bhatta like Baldia Factory and burning with it 260 bread earners of poor families.
