SHC asks medical college to allow student to take MBBS classes

The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday directed the administration of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical College Lyari to allow a student, Ayesha Khan, whose admission was cancelled, to attend MBBS classes till final decision of her petition.

Ayesha Khan’s admission was cancelled by the college administration notwithstanding she had passed NTS test bu according to them (administration) her domicile was illegal.

The SHC bench, headed by Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi, heard Ayesha’s petition who cited the secretary health, principal of the college, and deputy commissioner as respondents, and prayed the court to direct authorities concerned to restore her admission.

On Wednesday’s hearing, the court directed the principal of the college to allow Ayesha to attend the classes of MBBS till final verdict of the court. The petitioner submitted that she appeared in NTS test to get admission in MBBS and stood at serial number seven. After passing the NTS test, she was told by the college administration that she would be called in few days for attending classes but later she was informed that her administration had been cancelled due to illegal domicile. She submitted that she had obtained domicile in 2012 from Gadap Town, district Malir. Subsequently, they shifted their house and started living in Yousuf Goth, she added.

Ayesha submitted in her petition that the administration of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical College had also refused to grant admission to her sister and later she was admitted to the college on the court’s direction. The court was requested to declare the impugned cancellation order as illegal and unlawful.

  1. In view of the above mentioned circumstances, there is a need to held this matter in some competent court of jurisdiction to anticipate the matter on merits. Furthermore, there must be some prominent evidences to be placed on the record. how to write a dissertation discussion
