Prevention of cruelty on animals

SPCA at UVAS, Lahore was established in 1899 under the British India Government to prevent the cruelty on animals in Lahore. In contemporary age of twenty first century, the world the world has become more civilized including the developing countries like ours. But unfortunately, we also see animals as victims of feudal lords, the speechless creature while being faithful, loyal and having unconditional love for its owners suffer from various forms of cruelties including killing, physical abuse, under feeding, wrestling of the animals and injuries particularly in South Punjab where feudal culture prevails to do so for the sake of fun, amusement and other enjoyments. The government as advancing in all other realms should reform the structure of SPCA by making adequate legislation and its enforcement to ensure the prevention of cruelty on animals since animals are also the part of natural phenomenon for the survival of other species including the production of benefits for the human beings. Such ‘ostensibly trivial’ issues does have keen importance for the sustainable natural environment.
