At least six people were killed in a police shootout near Saggian Bridge early Wednesday morning.
Police reached the spot on a tip off and began a house to house search, when terrorists hiding in a house opened fire at them. In the shootout which followed six alleged terrorists were shot dead while four managed to flee.
Over four to five kilograms of explosives, four detonators, two Kalashnikovs, four pistols and three motorcycles were recovered from the house, police said.
The slain terrorists belonged to Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan’s Ustad Aslam group, police said.
