Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has termed the Panama Papers leaks as “satanic leaks”.
The minister, in a statement on Tuesday, pointed out that such allegations had also been made against the Sharif family in the past.
It may be mentioned here that the Panama Papers controversy put the ruling PML-N party and its chief Nawaz Sharif on the back foot. The leaked documents reveal that Sharif is also one of several world leaders whose immediate family members hold offshore companies. Allegations of money laundering, tax evasion and financial embezzlement were hurled at the Sharif family by political opponents.
Although Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif do not directly own any offshore company in their own name, Hussain, Hassan and Maryam Nawaz own offshore companies which generated an outcry among the masses.
Law Minister of Shahbaz Sharif ridiculed a country’s name by first calling it Pajama and then Satanic! I am sure the Diplomatic Community will not be so pleased.
