Islamabad to have chairlift soon

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Environment Department has decided to install chairlift in Islamabad for the tourists in partnership with private sector.

This project will be completed on the basis of BOT. Applications will be invited from national and international firms which are interested in the project. This chair lift will run from the rear of playland and its first station will be Daman-e-Koh. It will stop at Pir Maklala ahead of Pir Sohawa and will return from here. The place is 1150 feet high and is the highest site in Islamabad. The distance of one side of chairlift passage is 2.75 kilometres and total distance will stand at 5.5 kilometres.

The company will carve out design on its own and will install chairlift with its own capital. The project will be handed over to CDA after a stipulated period.
