Corps Commander Lahore Lt General Sadiq Ali met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif here on Tuesday. The security situation and implementation of the National Action Plan were discussed during the meeting.
The meeting decided to make coordinated security mechanism and civil military joint coordination centre which is already working under the National Action Plan, more effective.
The meeting stressed on the need for coordinated and organised action against terrorism especially in the wake of recent suicide attack in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park. Progress on the operations continuing throughout the province was reviewed in the meeting.
Besides, a decision was taken to continue action against terrorist networks and their facilitators through strong collaboration among the army, Rangers, CTD and police. The meeting concluded with the determination of making efforts against terrorism in Punjab more effective with the cooperation of all concerned.
