  Kohat to be beautiful soon, KP CM pledges  

 

 

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has ordered immediate steps for beautification of Kohat city and removal of impediments to ensure smooth flow of traffic in the city.

He added that survey for the construction of Kohat By pass road has started which would provide a better communication link to the area.

He said this while talking to a representative delegation of Kohat led by MNA Shehryar Afridi at CM House Peshawar. Provincial Minister for Law Imtiaz Shahid Quershi, Administrative secretaries of various departments, Managing Director Pakhtunkhwa High Way Authority, Commissioner Kohat and others were present on the occasion.

Shehryar Afridi while highlighting problems faced by the residents of Kohat said that availability of clean portable water was a serious problem in the area. He said that funds provided to the 28 union councils of the area where insufficient. Responding to the problems of the delegates CM directed for provision of more funds for the area in next financial budget. He informed the delegates that developmental funds were already transferred to all district governments. He said that now this was the responsibility of the elected representatives to ensure proper utilization of these funds.

The CM stressed the need of effective implementation of developmental schemes reflected in the ADP. He said that allocation would be made for additional schemes in a next ADP. The CM directed Commissioner Kohat for taking steps for beautification of the city. He also directed efficient utilization of developmental funds, removal of encroachments and construction of footpaths to overcome problems faced by the dwellers of the area.

The CM asked the elected representatives to plant more trees and develop nurseries in the area, under billion tree tsunami project. The CM also directed for ensuring free emergency drugs in public sector hospitals of Kohat. He also ordered for preparation of PC-1 for the improvement of Liaqat Memorial Hospital of Kohat.
