SHC orders to form JIT in missing person’s case

The Sindh High Court (SHC) has directed the home department to form a joint investigation team to locate the whereabouts of Ali Jaan who is missing since December 2015.

The SHC bench, headed by Irfan Saadat, was hearing a petition filed by missing man’s mother who moved the court seeking whereabouts of her son.

On Saturday’s hearing, the SDPO airport appeared before the court and submitted a progress report which stated that the kidnapping case had been registered at the airport police station. “Letters have been written to other law enforcers and rescue sources to trace the whereabouts of missing man, but his location is still unknown,” the report added. The court directed the home department to form a JIT report.

Earlier, the petitioner stated that her son Ali went to Jinnah International Airport Karachi on December 28, 2015, to take a flight for Dubai but he went missing from there. The family members of Ali approached the flight authorities where they came to know that he did not take that flight. Citing DG Rangers Sindh, IGP Sindh, director ASF and SHO Airport police station as respondents, the mother of missing man moved the court to direct the respondents to produce her son before the court.
