New database technology to prove milestone in criminal investigation: official

Regional Police Officer Tariq Masood Yaseen said that new state-of-the-art database technology would prove milestone in crimes’ investigation and will help restore the masses’ confidence in the police department.

Talking to APP here on Saturday, he said the system would create confidence among the working of police officials to investigate crimes through strict monitoring method.

We have connected every kind of proceedings continuing in different police stations of the region through the aforesaid technology, he said.

He said the requisite gadgets of information technology had been provided at almost all police stations adding that the system would be help monitor complaint’s application to FIR’s registrations followed by investigating process.

He said the police had upgraded requisite data of all main hotels, petrol pumps, colleges and other important institutions under POL.Com system. He said all police stations of the region were linked through the main server installed in RPO office. He said officials of the police department would be given a common mobile SIM to initiate better investigation of different criminal cases.

We are going to start a new project for seminaries through which bio-data of all students studying in religious institutions would be upgraded, he said. In response to a question, the RPO said operations of security institutions had been carried out successfully and good results were being achieved.
