RAW-trained Balochistan separatist leader nabbed in Rahim Yar Khan

Intelligence agencies have arrested Balochistan Liberation Army’s (BLA) commander, trained by Indian agency.

Sources said that the arrested operative is trained by Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) of India and used to provide assistance to militants in cross-border movement.

An Indian navy officer, affiliated with RAW, Kulbhushan Yadav was earlier apprehended in Balochistan who confessed to conspiring against China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and playing a role in terror attacks in Karachi and other parts.

The Indian spy tipped off the law enforcers about the presence of other Indian agents in Pakistan.

Foreign Office (FO) summoned Indian High Commissioner Gautam Bambawale and lodged a strong protest after the arrest. Bambawale was summoned a day after Yadav’s arrest in Balochistan. Foreign Ministry’s statement described the incident as the “illegal entry into Pakistan by a RAW officer and his involvement in subversive activities in Balochistan and Karachi”.

Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria on Thursday said that the issue will be raised on every forum internationally including United Nations (UN).

FO has also considered India’s request to grant counselor access to Yadav.

The government has sought details about the Indian national from Iran as he confessed to having been appointed at Chabahar, Iran’s port. Security analysts said that Yadav’s area of operation mainly was Gwadar and thus CPEC.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar held a meeting with Iranian Ambassador on Friday and expressed concerns over the activities of Indian agents on Iranian soil.

Nisar demanded that Iran should arrest RAW’s agent Rakesh alias Rizwan. Nisar addressed the current situation, stating that the presence of Indian intelligence agents on Iranian soil was a highly suspicious matter. Iranian Ambassador assured that Iran will remove all the reservations voiced by Pakistan.

Last year, Pakistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations (UN), Maleeha Lodhi had handed over evidence of Indian interference in Balochistan and other parts to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
