Arms smuggling to Punjab foiled, two arrested in DG Khan

The police foiled a bid to smuggle weapons to Punjab, seizing an arms-laden vehicle and arrested two culprits here on Friday.

The police on a tip-off regarding arms smuggling, started snap checking of vehicles and during the search of a suspected car at Indus Highway, Tounsa area of Dera Ghazi Khan huge cache of arms were recovered.

The recovered weapons included 30 Kalashnikovs and more than 6000 rounds. Two smugglers on board were arrested.

The police took the recovered weapons into custody and after registering a case against the nabbed culprits, have started investigation.
