As many as 980 posts including higher ranks are still vacant in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police.
According to a document, the federal police was functioning without appointments against the key posts including the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad (BPS-21), Deputy Inspector General DIG (BPS-20) and three posts of senior superintendent of police (SSP) (BPS-19) are still vacant in federal police.
Likewise, the posts of one Deputy Superident Police (BPS-17), (ASP-17) six posts, Inspector (BPS-16) five, Sub-Inspector (BPS-14) 20 vacancies, 38 posts of Assistant Sub Inspector (BPS-9) rank, DES (BPS-15) two, Assistant (BPS-14) 11 posts, 15 Stenotypist (BPS-14), Data Entry Opertor (BPS-12) six, nine UDC (BPS-9), eight LDC (BPS-7), 16 Naib Qasid (BPS-1) and 35 posts of followers (BPS-1) are also vacant in Islamabad police.
